As the Tax Manager (m/f/d), you will provide essential tax counsel, particularly focusing on VAT, for our e-commerce operations while contributing invaluable insights for our European expansion initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Offer comprehensive tax advice tailored to our e-commerce landscape, emphasizing VAT considerations and delivering general tax counsel integral to our European expansion plans.
Forge strong partnerships with METRO AG's tax department and affiliated METRO companies' tax units, ensuring seamless coordination and adherence to best practices across the board.
Work autonomously post-onboarding, collaborating closely with various cross-functional teams within METRO Markets to align tax strategies with our operational objectives.
Proficient in decisive leadership, demonstrating an adept ability to make informed decisions, take ownership, and effectively steer projects towards successful outcomes.
The ability to assess situations, make decisions and take action is key to being an effective manager and project leader
Evaluating business risk and understanding the risk-reward ratio as well as situational and relationship-based thinking and actions play a vital role in handling complex situations within projects and business interactions.
You've got
At least 6 years professional experience in the tax department of a corporation with focus on VAT
Strong expertise in national & international VAT Governance
Strong expertise in international Tax law
Ability to break down complex matters and communicate well to various internal and external audiences
Completed degree in economics or law with a focus on taxation
Structured, independent and reliable way of working
Proven team player who enjoys working in a dynamic environment
Fluent level in English and German, any additional languages are beneficial.
